The Durant Creek watershed is situated in the southeastern third of Margate and the northwest quarter of Clinton plus a small part along the north edge of Norboro. The highest elevations of 50 to 52 m are found along the south side of the area. The land generally slopes toward the northeastward to the Southwest River estuary.
Durant Creek is a short system that starts in the uplands between of Margate west of Rte 233. It flows about 2.2 km east-northeast into an 0.8 km long estuary on the south side of the Southwest River. A 1.1 km long tributary enters the Durant Creek estuary on the east side.
